What's the difference between content repurposing and content syndication?

Syndication republishes the same article on another site, usually with a canonical link pointing back to the original. Repurposing transforms the content into a new format for a new audience — the blog post becomes a Twitter thread, a LinkedIn post, a podcast script, a newsletter. Syndication is about distribution of identical content; repurposing is about adaptation. Syndication needs canonical tags to avoid SEO duplication; repurposing generally doesn't, because the final output is different enough that Google treats it as fresh content.
