Free AI Email Generator
Generate product update emails, launch announcements, and feature release emails with AI. 3 variations with different styles, plus a bank of subject lines. Paste your description, pick the email type, done.
The 4-Part Product Email Formula
Every effective product email — whether it's an update, announcement, or launch — follows this structure. Our AI email generator uses this formula, but understanding it helps you refine the output.
The Hook
Your subject line and opening sentence determine whether anyone reads the rest. Lead with what's in it for the reader — not what you built.
“Your reports now generate 3x faster — here's what changed.”
The What
One clear sentence explaining what changed, launched, or shipped. No jargon, no marketing speak. If it takes more than two sentences, you're over-explaining.
“We rebuilt the reporting engine from scratch. Same dashboard, dramatically faster results.”
The Why It Matters
Connect the feature to the reader's actual workflow. How does this save them time, money, or headaches? Be specific — “saves time” is weak, “saves 20 minutes per report” is strong.
“That weekly report that used to take 8 minutes to load? Now it's ready in under 2.”
The CTA
One action. Not three. Not “learn more and also try it and also share with your team.” Pick the single most valuable thing the reader should do next.
“Open your dashboard — your latest report is already waiting.”
Good vs. Bad Product Update Emails
The difference between an email that gets clicks and one that gets archived? Specificity.
Subject: Exciting Updates!
“Hi there! We're thrilled to announce some exciting new updates to our platform. We've been working hard to bring you the best experience possible. Check out all the new features we've added to make your workflow even better!”
Subject: Your reports now load 3x faster
“That weekly report that used to take 8 minutes? Now it loads in under 2. We rebuilt the reporting engine this month — same dashboard you know, dramatically faster results. Open your dashboard and see the difference. Your latest report is already waiting.”
5 Rules for Product Emails That Get Clicks
Whether you use our AI email generator or write from scratch, these rules separate emails people read from emails people archive.
One email, one thing
Don't stuff 5 updates into one email. Pick the most impactful change and make it the hero. Save the rest for next week's email or a changelog link at the bottom.
Subject line = benefit, not feature name
"New dashboard filters" is a feature. "Find any report in 2 clicks" is a benefit. The subject line determines whether anyone opens your email — lead with what they get, not what you built.
First sentence does the heavy lifting
Most email clients show a preview of the first line. If it says "We're excited to announce..." you've wasted it. Start with the outcome: "Your exports now include PDF format."
150 words is plenty
Product update emails aren't blog posts. The reader wants to know what changed, why they should care, and what to do next. That's 3-4 sentences. Link to a detailed changelog or blog post for readers who want more.
One CTA, not three
"Try it now" — not "try it now and also read our blog and also share with your team and also check out our new pricing." Every additional CTA reduces click-through on all of them.
